Immunity Boosting Tea Recipe: Ginger + Lime + Thyme Tonic

Ginger + Lime + Thyme Tonic

Ingredients:

  • 1 quart of water

  • 2 inch chunk of fresh ginger, grated or thinly sliced 

  • 3 key limes (or 1 regular lime)

  • 10 sprigs of fresh thyme 

  • 1/4 tsp of turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp coconut oil (to aid absorption of turmeric)

  • 1 ml (dropper full) oil of oregano 

  • Maple syrup or agave, to taste (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Boil water with fresh ginger and lime.

  2. Let the tonic simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes.

  3. Turn heat off, add thyme, oregano oil, coconut oil, and agave/maple syrup.

  4. Speak the following affirmation over your tea before consuming: "I am healthy, whole, perfect, and complete! My body temple is thriving!"


Benefits of this tea:

  • Ginger - rich in vitamin B3 + B5 + C, phosphorus, calcium, zinc and folate. Great for digestion and gut health, soothes nausea and stomach aches, and is highly effective at reducing menstrual pain!

  • Thyme - packed with vitamin C + A. Thyme has antispasmodic, mucus-clearing, and antibacterial properties that help relieve muscle spasms, such as coughing. 

  • Lime - reduces inflammation and improves digestion.

  • Turmeric - anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

  • Oil of oregano - natural antibiotic and anti-fungal, and is packed with antioxidants.
